Three Key Player to miss Pakistan tour

SYDENY:.Australia Announces 17-Member Squad for Pakistan Tour.

According to the sources of Cricket Australia, The Australian Cricket Board has named its 17-member squad for the upcoming tour of Pakistan. Key players Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Tim David will miss the series due to injuries.

Mitchell Marsh has been appointed as captain of the squad. The team also includes several new and returning faces such as Sean Abbott, Xavier Bartlett, Mahli Beardman, and Cooper Connolly.

Other notable inclusions are Jack Edwards, Cameron Green, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Matthew Kuhnemann, and Mitch Owen.

The full squad is completed by Josh Philippe, Matthew Renshaw, Matt Short, Marcus Stoinis, and experienced leg-spinner Adam Zampa.

Cricket experts believe that despite the absence of several injured key players, the Australian squad still looks very strong and is expected to provide tough competition to Pakistan.

Australia and Pakistan have had a closely contested rivalry in T20Is, with the record remaining remarkably balanced over the years.

As of the latest available statistics (around late 2025/early 2026), the two teams have played 28 T20I matches:

  • Australia wins: 14
  • Pakistan wins: 13
  • No results: 1
  • Ties: 0

This near-even split highlights how competitive their encounters have been, with neither side holding a dominant edge overall.

Key highlights include:

  • Australia has historically performed strongly at home, remaining unbeaten against Pakistan in T20Is on Australian soil.
  • Pakistan has enjoyed success in several high-profile clashes, including memorable World Cup encounters.
  • The most recent bilateral series (Pakistan’s tour of Australia in November 2024) saw Australia sweep the three-match T20I series convincingly.

With Australia touring Pakistan for a three-match T20I series in late January/early February 2026 (as preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026), fans can expect another thrilling chapter in this exciting rivalry. Cricket experts often describe these matchups as unpredictable and full of fireworks
