Bahawalpur: A man accused of exhuming the body of a 16-year-old girl and desecrating it in southern Punjab has met a violent end.
According to details, following the suspicious death of a teenage girl in the Khairpur Tamewali area of Bahawalpur, her family laid her to rest in a local graveyard.
The following day, a young man allegedly dug up the grave and desecrated the body.
Local residents later discovered that the grave had been disturbed and the body was missing.
The girl’s body was subsequently found at a deserted location, after which the matter was reported to the police.
Police launched an investigation using modern techniques and detained several suspects.
Based on their identification, one individual was arrested, who later confessed to exhuming the body and committing the act.
Investigations also revealed that the accused was allegedly involved in activities related to black magic.
According to police officials, while the suspect was being taken for identification, his own accomplices opened fire on him, killing him on the spot.
Meanwhile, police have also raised doubts about the cause of the girl’s death and have expanded the scope of the investigation to determine all aspects of the case.
