Reject anti-state propaganda,’ Zahoor Buledi

QUETTA: Provincial Minister for Planning and Development, Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, visited the Shaheed Zakir Baloch Degree College in Hoshab on Tuesday, reconnecting with an institution he played a key role in establishing.

During an interactive session with students, Buledi praised the college as a “prominent and active” institution in Balochistan that provides equal, quality education. He expressed pride in seeing youth from a remote area like Hoshab pursuing studies with passion. The visit held personal significance for Buledi, who stated the college is “close to his heart,” recalling his important role in laying its foundation in 2008.

Addressing the youth, the minister encouraged students to aim for top national medical and engineering institutions to bring glory to their region. He also issued a cautionary note about the spread of negative propaganda via social media, urging students to stay focused on their education and avoid such influences.

The visit was attended by local administration officials, including Assistant Commissioner Turbat Muhammad Hanif Kabzai, District Education Officer Kech Amjad Shahzad, and heads of law enforcement agencies. Principal Rashid Baloch warmly welcomed the minister and his delegation.

Buledi concluded his visit by attentively listening to student complaints and problems, assuring them of effective steps to find resolutions.

Meanwhile in a landmark move for governance reform, the Balochistan government has initiated its first-ever online recruitment process, heralding a new era of transparency and efficiency. The pilot project, launched within the Finance Department, successfully filled 111 vacant posts using a digital testing system that bypassed traditional “office action” and recommendations.

The revolutionary process ensured that candidates were selected solely on merit through an online examination. Remarkably, appointment letters were issued to successful candidates within just one hour of test completion, setting an unprecedented standard for speed in public sector hiring. This swift and paperless procedure is being hailed as a critical step toward eradicating corruption, nepotism, and job-selling from the province’s recruitment system.
