LONDON: The well-known truck displaying a large image of former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been targeted by unidentified individuals in the United Kingdom, after black paint was thrown onto the poster.
In this case, a video of the incident has circulated widely on social media, prompting strong reactions from supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The viral footage shows the truck parked in a public area, with black paint clearly splashed across the prominent image of Imran Khan, causing visible damage to the poster. In such a case, the PTI supporters and social media users have strongly condemned the act, describing it as deliberate and malicious.
Furthermore, one PTI supporter wrote on social media that, in response to the incident, more trucks displaying Imran Khan’s images would appear on roads across the UK.
The post indicated a broader sentiment among supporters, many of whom viewed the act as an attempt to silence political expression rather than an isolated act of vandalism.
Moreover, the vehicle has been touring various parts of the United Kingdom for nearly two years and is widely regarded as a symbol of solidarity with Imran Khan.
The owner stated that the incident occurred just days before the beginning of 2026 and emphasized that the truck was intentionally targeted. However, the individuals responsible for the act have not yet been identified.
Meanwhile, the truck gained vital attention in the past after Jemima Goldsmith, Imran Khan’s former wife, shared its image on social media.
In such a scenario, concern has been expressed within parts of the British Pakistani community. Many community members have voiced unease over what they perceive as growing intolerance toward political expression abroad.
As of now, no official statement has been issued by British authorities regarding the incident. It remains unclear whether a formal complaint has been lodged or if an investigation is underway.
The incident has once again mentioned the deep political emotions associated with Imran Khan among his supporters, both within Pakistan and among the overseas Pakistani community.
