CHAGAI: The Reko Diq Mining Company (RDMC) has officially launched two key projects under its Community Investment Program:
the Mashki Chah Community Health Clinic and the Nok Chah Primary School. These initiatives demonstrate the company’s long-term dedication to improving access to essential services for populations in and around its operational areas.
The inaugurations were performed by Reko Diq Project General Manager Mr. Ryan Mitchell.
During the events, he reiterated RDMC’s community-partnership-driven development approach, where projects are prioritized in consultation with Community Development Committees (CDCs) to accurately address local needs and ensure community ownership.
He stated: “These are practical, community-owned projects that bring real change to daily lives.
Through close collaboration with CDCs and trusted partners, our focus is on delivering sustainable outcomes that communities can maintain and enhance over time.”
The Mashki Chah Community Health Clinic marks the third health facility established by RDMC in the region, following earlier clinics in Humai village and Nokundi.
This clinic will particularly emphasize maternal and child health, offering pregnant women pre- and post-natal care along with basic medical services.
It is anticipated to significantly improve health indicators for Mashki Chah and surrounding communities.
RDMC’s Community Investment Lead, Muhammad Essa Tahir, noted on the occasion that the three community health clinics, combined with the Mobile Health Unit currently serving over 20 villages, are playing a vital role in ensuring quality healthcare reaches remote areas.
The opening of Nok Chah Primary School represents another major milestone in RDMC’s education-focused community investments.
Education is a core pillar of the program, which prioritizes enhancing school infrastructure, creating better learning environments, and achieving lasting educational results through partnerships with local institutions and communities.
The school’s inauguration ceremony was attended by students, parents, teachers, CDC members, tribal elders, and local dignitaries.
Local community representative Abdul Salam praised RDMC’s support, saying: “Education is the foundation for empowering our children and strengthening our community’s future.
In addition to infrastructure development, RDMC is promoting education across its supported schools in Chagai district by recruiting qualified teachers, providing textbooks, and supplying uniforms, making quality education more accessible.”
