ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday granted a ten-day transit bail to TikTokers Rajab Butt and Nadeem Mubarak, widely known as Nani Wala.
The two social media influencers arrived in Pakistan late Tuesday after being deported from the United Kingdom. They had returned to surrender to authorities in several ongoing legal cases.
Both men face multiple investigations. In September, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) booked Butt for allegedly promoting online gambling applications. Mubarak was also booked on similar charges. He was additionally arrested that month for allegedly displaying a fake registration plate — IK-804 — on his vehicle. Police said he failed to explain why he used the number, which matches the prisoner ID issued to jailed PTI founder Imran Khan.
Officials said the two influencers were travelling from London and were expected to reach Islamabad Airport later tonight. They are likely to surrender to investigators on December 10.
Earlier, the court had granted them protective bail until today. Their relatives had filed the petition to ensure the pair were not arrested upon landing in Pakistan.
