QUETTA: The District Coordination Committee of Nasirabad convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Captain (R) Zulfiqar Ali Qarār to review ongoing and upcoming development initiatives under the Balochistan Social Development Initiative (BSDI).
The meeting brought together representatives of the Provincial Assembly, district department heads and officials from intelligence agencies, indicating broad institutional participation in the district’s development planning process.
The officials presented a detailed briefing on the progress of BSDI Phase-I projects. These included key schemes related to road infrastructure, public health services and local government development.
Furthermore, Deputy Commissioner Qarār emphasized that the administration would maintain strict oversight of all development activities to ensure transparency and quality.
He noted that public resources are a trust that must be utilized responsibly and said there would be no compromise on standards at any stage of implementation. He further mentioned that the government’s priority is to ensure that development projects deliver meaningful and lasting relief to local communities.
Meanwhile, the meeting also focused on planning for Phase-II of BSDI, in which the district will prioritize smaller yet essential schemes. In this sense, Deputy Commissioner, these targeted interventions are expected to benefit a larger segment of the population by addressing basic infrastructure and service gaps in underserved areas.
He stressed the importance of designing projects that respond directly to public needs and contribute to sustainable development.
They agreed that closer collaboration between government institutions is crucial for achieving development goals in a timely and effective manner.
Deputy Commissioner Qarār directed all relevant departments to accelerate their work on ongoing schemes and to ensure that project documentation, monitoring mechanisms and progress reports remain updated. He reasserted that the district administration is committed to transparent governance and to ensuring that development funds are spent prudently.
In such a scenario, the Chief Minister of Balochistan has also carried out the launch of the Journalist Housing Society that is considered as the first ever scheme in the history of province.
