QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan chaired an important meeting of the Secretaries Committee, reviewing the performance of provincial departments, progress on development projects, and measures to improve the delivery of basic public services.
The meeting, held in Quetta, focused on strengthening governance mechanisms and ensuring that essential facilities reach citizens in an efficient and timely manner.
Furthermore, the Chief Secretary said the provincial government’s top priority is to ease the daily lives of the people by improving healthcare, education, water supply, infrastructure, and other key services.
He focused on that real public service is reflected in actions that bring convenience and relief to citizens.
In addition, Khan instructed all officers to ensure their regular presence at their respective postings, stressing that absenteeism creates unnecessary hurdles in resolving public complaints.
He noted that consistent field presence is essential for effective administration and for addressing issues faced by local communities.
The meeting also reviewed staff attendance in government offices, the activation of official social media accounts, merit-based recruitment for vacant positions, and the monitoring of development schemes.
Moreover, the Chief Secretary directed all departments to immediately activate their social media platforms to provide real-time updates on ongoing development activities.
He stated that transparent and proactive communication not only increases public trust but also strengthens the connection between citizens and the government.
Meanwhile, Khan also instructed all secretaries to fill vacant posts strictly on merit and at the earliest.
The competent and adequately staffed workforce, he said, is the foundation of effective service delivery and improved departmental performance.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of Balochistan has already focused on good governance and service delivery for the people of Balochistan.
The Chief Secretary reiterated the government’s commitment to transparent governance and the timely provision of essential services, focusing on that coordinated efforts across departments are vital for achieving sustainable development goals in the province.
