The Makran Division Sports Festival 2025 was launched with great fervor in Turbat, marking a significant celebration of athleticism and youth engagement in the region.

TURBAT: The Makran Division Sports Festival 2025 was launched with great fervor in Turbat, marking a significant celebration of athleticism and youth engagement in the region. The colorful opening ceremony, held at the Cricket Ground of Airport Chowk, was inaugurated by Secretary of the District Cricket Association Gwadar, Mir Abdullah Ali Hassan, and witnessed a large and enthusiastic turnout from the local community.

Organized by the Sports and Youth Affairs Department of the Balochistan Government, the event’s arrangements were overseen by District Sports Officer Kech, Abdul Ghaffar Dashti. The festival has been widely welcomed by political, social, and sports personalities, including Captain Abdul Basit, who praised it as a vital positive step for the region’s youth.

The festival is designed to be a comprehensive sporting event, featuring over 15 different games. The diverse lineup includes major sports like cricket and football, traditional games such as kabaddi and tug-of-war, and fun activities like the spoon race and musical chairs. The event aims to provide a platform for the best athletes from across Makran Division to showcase their talents.

The festival commenced with a thrilling cricket match between the teams of Kech and Gwadar. Gwadar, winning the toss and choosing to bat first, set a target of 153 runs for the loss of 9 wickets, generating tremendous excitement among players and spectators alike. At the ceremony’s conclusion, participating athletes expressed their gratitude to the organizers and advocated for the festival’s expansion. They demanded that such events be organized regularly in all districts of Balochistan to provide more opportunities for the youth to engage in healthy activities and display their skills.

Meanwhile a high-level meeting was convened at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Panjgur to review district affairs, with a strong emphasis on administrative performance and development. Chaired by Deputy Commissioner Abdul Kabir Zarkoon, the meeting brought together key figures including MPA Rehmat Saleh Baloch, SSP Dost Muhammad Bugti, and heads of various government departments.
