RAWALPINDI: Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Ardeshir Larijani, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Wednesday.
The meeting focused on bilateral cooperation, regional security, and strengthening Pakistan-Iran ties, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
Both leaders discussed prevailing security dynamics in the region. COAS Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability and stressed closer collaboration with Iran to combat terrorism.
He highlighted the growing importance of strategic cooperation amid evolving geopolitical challenges.
Larijani acknowledged Pakistan’s key role in regional security and expressed his commitment to advancing Iran-Pakistan relations. He emphasized the value of dialogue and partnership to address regional challenges and ensure long-term stability.
Earlier today, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said Pakistan is a key country, determined to secure its rightful place in the international community.
He highlighted the armed forces’ professional performance and unwavering resolve during critical operations as a reflection of Pakistan’s growing global reputation.
He stressed that national unity is Pakistan’s greatest strength and vowed that, God willing, the nation will thwart all enemy conspiracies together.
The remarks came during a visit by participants of the National Security Workshop 27 (NSW–27) to General Headquarters (GHQ). The delegation received detailed briefings on Pakistan’s regional and domestic security environment and the overall national security situation.
