QUETTA: The Election Tribunal has halted the success notification of the member of assembly in NA 251.
Mohammad Aamir Nawaz Rana, the judge of Election Tribunal heard the election petition.
The Deputy Director of the Election Commission Ali Jan and Naseer Ahmed appeared for the hearing.
The Election Tribunal announced the reserved verdict of the election petition on NA 251 and halted the notification of the successful member of assembly.
The tribunal has ordered repolling in 22 polling stations of the constituency.
It is worth mentioning that Khushhal Khan, the chairman of PKNAP had challenged the success of elected MNA from NA 251.
It is worth mentioning that the electoral proceedings for the local government election in Quetta are also underway now.
The Election Commission of Pakistan has already given the schedule for polling on 28th December.
The nomination papers from the candidates have been submitted to the Election Commission Office.
There are as many as 641 wards for 172 Union Councils in Quetta.
Local government elections are set to commence soon, marking a significant step in grassroots democracy.
These elections allow citizens to elect representatives for municipal councils, union councils, and other local bodies, giving communities a voice in governance and development.
Candidates from various political parties, as well as independents, will compete for positions that oversee local infrastructure, public services, education, and healthcare.

Observers stress the importance of voter participation to make the process representative and successful.
The Balochistan High Court had initially ordered to conduct the local government election in September and had asked ECP to make all the required arrangements.
The Balochistan government had submitted a petition to halt the local government election keeping in view the law-and-order and the security situation.
However, the Election Commission of Pakistan turned down the petition and wrote the the Chief Secretary of the Balochistan government to take all the necessary measures for security arrangements in Quetta.
