Quetta – The central president of the Balochistan Goods Truck Owners Association, Haji Noor Muhammad Shwani, along with central Information Secretary Haji Rozi Khan Mandokhel, central secretary Jafar Khan Kakar, Sohail Khan, Haji Zahir Shah, Umar Shah Afridi, Khuda Dad Shwani, Babu Jan Raisani, Muhammad Amin Samalani, Abdul Majeed Pirkani, Haji Murad Khan Kakar, Saifullah Shwani, Haji Masoom Khan Achakzai, Haji Allah Muhammad, and other transporters have strongly urged the Government of Pakistan, especially the IG FC and officials connected to the Chaman border, as well as the Afghan government, to facilitate the transport of goods to Afghanistan.
They emphasized the need to create special arrangements for vehicles carrying domestic goods to and from Afghanistan.
Empty trucks or those carrying household items should not face unnecessary harassment, ensuring smooth transit and avoiding difficulties.
The truck convoys often include families with children, elderly, and young passengers.
Therefore, in line with humanitarian considerations, both the governments of Pakistan and Afghanistan should prioritize the smooth passage of heavy transport so that Afghan refugees can return safely and conveniently to their homeland.
It is worth mentioning that after the border-strain, there was a pause of the trade between the two countries.
The closure of the border not only caused a halt for trade but also it halted the repatriation of the Afghan nationals to their country.
However, later on, the border was opened for the return of the Afghan nationals as well as the goods-transport that were stuck on the either side of the border.
The goods transport and the vehicles carrying the Afghan citizens on their way back to their country have been partially allowed to move across.
However, some complexities including the vehicle verification process and some other formalities are causing an immense delay.
The traders and the goods transporters on the either side have seen an enormous distress on account of the ongoing situation.
