KALAT: The security forces conducted a targeted operation near the Kalat Toll Plaza, resulting in the killing of one armed militant and injuries to two others.
The action was initiated following credible intelligence reports indicating the presence of suspicious individuals believed to be involved in planning subversive activities in the area.
The suspects opened fire when security personnel approached their location, prompting a swift and coordinated response. In the brief exchange of fire, one militant was fatally shot, and two others sustained injuries and were taken into custody for further investigation.
Furthermore, after the encounter, security forces launched a comprehensive search operation across the surrounding area to ensure the presence of no additional threats.
During the search, personnel recovered three motorcycles believed to have been used by the suspects for movement across the region. In addition, a sub-machine gun, an important quantity of ammunition, and explosive material were also seized.
In this regard, the government representatives noted that the timely action of the security forces prevented what could have been a major security incident.
