MACH: The senior official report has confirmed that the recent gas pipeline rupture in the Mach area of Bolan district resulted from a technical malfunction rather than any form of sabotage or militant activity.
In this regard, the engineers overseeing the site, an unexpected surge in pressure caused the underground pipeline laid deep beneath the Bolan riverbed to give way, prompting an immediate shutdown and repair operation.
The pipeline’s depth and reinforced structure, the likelihood of an external explosive attack was “extremely low to non-existent.”
In this sense, the technical teams were deployed shortly after the incident and are working to restore full supply.
Furthermore, several social media accounts aligned with the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and other foreign-based dissident networks attempted to claim responsibility for the rupture.
In addition, the government representatives noted that this pattern has become more frequent, with older videos, unrelated incidents, and selective footage often being circulated to misrepresent local tensions.
So far, there are several observers who argue that efforts by certain separatist factions to frame routine incidents as militant operations stem from declining influence on the ground.
The BLA, in particular, has long portrayed itself as a resistance movement, but its repeated attacks on civilians, teachers, laborers, and public-sector employees have drawn strong criticism from within the province.
Moreover, the officials focused on the fact that genuine concerns of the people of Balochistan must be addressed through peaceful engagement, democratic processes, and improved service delivery not through fear or misinformation.
They stressed that attempts to create division between residents and state institutions serve only to destabilize the province.
