However, the Election Commission of Pakistan had turned down the petition and had issued the schedule of the election.

The Secretary Election Commission has written a letter to the Chief Secretary of the Balochistan government to compile with the schedule given by the ECP and get the preparation done.

The ECP had ordered the Chief Secretary to ensure the security measures and make the election procedure a smooth one for the political parties and the candidates in Quetta.

However, the political and the social figures of Quetta still reveal their reservations on the constituencies in Quetta and have demanded postponing of the local government election. The polling for the 641 general seats will be carried out on the 28th December.
