ISLAMABAD: A gas cylinder explosion occurred in the basement cafeteria of the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday, injuring two people.
According to initial reports, rescue teams and security personnel quickly reached the scene and began emergency operations. The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Rescue officials said the blast was apparently caused by a gas leak in the kitchen area. The extent of the damage is being assessed, while security around the building has been tightened as a precautionary measure.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
Later, the Islamabad Inspector General also arrived at the Supreme Court, while the Bomb Disposal Squad completed the screening of the affected building.
