TURBAT: A one-day agricultural fair showcasing high-quality dates from across Balochistan was held at the Circuit House in Turbat under the banner of the Social Enterprises Platform.
Vendors displayed a variety of premium date products that drew strong public interest. Visitors sampled different date varieties and showed keen enthusiasm in making purchases.
A large number of local farmers, traders, and businesspersons attended the event. Officials from the relevant departments briefed participants on modern techniques for date cultivation, processing, and marketing.
Organisers said such fairs would continue in the future to help improve agricultural productivity and connect farmers directly with markets, thereby boosting the local economy.
This year, Turbat will host Mega Sports Festival 2025 in December. Deputy Commissioner Kech Bashir Ahmed Barych has finalised preparations for the district’s largest sporting event, the Mega Sports Festival 2025, following a comprehensive planning meeting with key stakeholders.
The meeting brought together civil society representatives, educational institutions, and sports associations, including Convener Altaaz Sakhi, District Sports Officer Abdul Ghaffar Baloch, and representatives from University of Turbat and local colleges.
