ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq met Speaker Balochistan Assembly Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai at Parliament House on Monday to discuss Balochistan’s security situation and ongoing development projects.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq paid rich tribute to the Pakistan security forces for their unwavering sacrifices to restore and maintain peace in the province. He said the Pakistan Army continues to play a vital role in ensuring stability and countering terrorism in Balochistan.
Highlighting regional security challenges, the Speaker vowed to defeat the “Fitna”—allegedly backed by India and aimed at destabilizing peace. He said the state will firmly counter such malicious designs and ensure that terrorism finds no space in the country.
Sadiq reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting the hard-earned peace in Balochistan and pledged that the sacrifices of security personnel will never go in vain. He added that the government is taking every possible step to bring Balochistan on par with other provinces in terms of development.
Balochistan Assembly Speaker Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai said that sustainable peace is crucial for the province’s progress and the well-being of its people. He praised the Pakistan Army and other security agencies for their relentless efforts in maintaining law and order.
Achakzai also thanked the federal government for its continued support and contribution to Balochistan’s development.
Provincial Minister for Communication, Works, and Housing Saleem Ahmed Khosa also attended the meeting, which covered key parliamentary and provincial matters.
Earlier this week, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Balochistan Muhammad Tahir said that concrete measures are being taken to further strengthen the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and improve the overall investigation process in the province.
He said the police were utilising all available resources to maintain exemplary peace in Balochistan.
The IGP Balochistan expressed these views during his visit to Noshki, where he addressed officers and personnel at a Police Darbar. During the gathering, the IGP listened to the issues faced by police officers and assured them that their problems would be resolved on a priority basis.
