RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, during his official visit to Jordan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II also attended the meeting.
Both leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, focusing on strengthening defence and security cooperation and exchanging views on regional developments.
Field Marshal conveyed warm greetings from the people, government, and armed forces of Pakistan to His Majesty the King, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further deepen fraternal relations with Jordan.
King Abdullah appreciated the professionalism and contributions of the Pakistan Armed Forces towards regional peace and stability and expressed his desire to expand defence collaboration between the two countries.
Earlier, Field Marshal Asim Munir met Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF), at the General Headquarters in Amman.
The Jordanian military accorded the Field Marshal a warm welcome and presented him with a Guard of Honour upon arrival.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the deep-rooted and historic ties between the armed forces of Pakistan and Jordan. Major General Al-Huneiti acknowledged Pakistan’s vital role and contributions to peace and security in the region.
