QUETTA: The head of Balochistan’s police force has reaffirmed that safeguarding the lives and property of citizens is a fundamental right and a top priority for the department.
Inspector General (IG) of Police, Muhammad Tahir, made these comments while leading a video conference meeting on security arrangements from the Central Police Office. He stated that ensuring law, order, and equal justice for all are core responsibilities of the Balochistan Police.
IG Tahir paid tribute to the sacrifices made by police personnel in the ongoing fight against terrorism and kidnappings. He emphasised that officers have given their lives to maintain peace in the past and remain prepared to do so in the future.
He described “selfless service” and the protection of the public as the force’s main objectives. To achieve this, he urged his officers to make public service their central mission and to work on eradicating crime swiftly and effectively.
The Police Chief also highlighted that success in their mission requires strong cooperation from the public, which must be earned through dedicated and reliable service.
