QUETTA: The Governor of Balochistan, Jaffar Khan Mandokhel, has issued a directive to restore a key road near the Luckpass Tunnel, giving authorities a three-month deadline to complete the work and ensure smooth traffic movement.
The Governor made the announcement during a meeting with members of the National Highway Authority. He stated that the road restoration is part of a larger initiative to improve transport links across the province’s various regions.
Governor Mandokhel highlighted the significant benefits that the completion of the Chaman-to-Karachi Expressway would bring to the people of Balochistan. He also expressed optimism about the approval of another major infrastructure project, stating that he hopes Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will soon announce a new expressway connecting Quetta to Zhob and Dera Ismail Khan.
In a further boost for the province’s infrastructure, the Governor revealed that projects to widen roads near Kolpur on the Zhob Bypass and at Bolan Pass are scheduled to be inaugurated within the next two months.

Emphasising the critical importance of the road network, Governor Mandokhel said that the construction, safety, and maintenance of national highways are essential for the country’s development and progress. He concluded by reaffirming a collective determination to bring sustainable peace, development, and prosperity to every part of Balochistan.
