147 schools reopened in Kalat as part of educational reforms, says DC

Empower girls' education: Balochistan's renovated Taftan school unveiled

KALAT : In a ceremony held to mark Teachers’ Day, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kalat, Captain (retd) Jamil Baloch, honored the teaching profession as a sacred duty vital for national and societal development.

Emphasizing education as a fundamental right for every child, DC Baloch highlighted the government’s concrete steps to bolster the sector. “On the instructions of the Balochistan government, 147 schools have been made operational in Kalat district, and the appointment of teachers on merit is an important step towards a bright future,” he stated.

He underscored the critical role of teachers, stating that no nation can achieve progress without respecting them. “Our religion, Islam, has given a prominent place to teachers in society. Similarly, the state has also declared teachers as the guarantors of building the future of nations,” he added.

Directing a message to female students, the Deputy Commissioner encouraged them to pursue their educational careers with hard work and dedication. He assured them that their efforts would lead to progress and success, enabling them to secure positions where they can serve their region, province, and country.

On World Teachers’ Day, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti honored educators as the nation’s builders and announced major reforms in the province’s education sector, headlined by the merit-based recruitment of 16,000 teachers .

In his message, the Chief Minister hailed teachers as “the architects of our children’s bright future,” emphasizing that their contributions and sacrifices are unforgettable . He reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to education and teacher welfare, stating that empowering educators is a top priority for the provincial government .

CM Bugti highlighted the government’s transformative strides in educational governance. He announced the successful completion of a “historical step” – the merit-based recruitment of 16,000 teachers .

He underscored the transparency of this massive hiring process, noting that 99.9 percent merit was ensured, guaranteeing that only the most qualified and capable candidates were selected for these crucial roles .

The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s resolve to provide quality education for every child in Balochistan . He stressed that the dignity and empowerment of teachers are fundamental to social progress, asserting that “an honorable and empowered teacher is the one who can lay the foundation for a civilized and developed society” .
