Balochistan govt releases Rs802m for public universities

QUETTA: The Government of Balochistan has released funds worth Rs801.95 million for the salaries and pensions of employees of public sector universities across the province.

According to a notification issued by the provincial finance department, the grant has been allocated under the Public Sector Universities Allowance.

As per details, the University of Balochistan received Rs272.97 million, Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) received Rs170.19 million, while Balochistan University of Engineering and Technology, Khuzdar was allocated Rs101.7 million.

Similarly, Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences was granted Rs78.82 million, the University of Turbat Rs41.09 million, and the University of Loralai Rs29.81 million.

The government also allocated Rs13.7 million for Mir Chakar Khan Rind University, Sibi, Rs12.39 million for the University of Gwadar, Rs11.55 million for Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences, and Rs9.19 million for the University of Makran, Panjgur.

In addition, the University of Balochistan’s Khuzdar Campus was granted a special allocation of Rs3.4 million.

The move reflects the provincial government’s commitment to ensure timely salaries and pensions for university employees and to strengthen the financial stability of higher education institutions in Balochistan.
