Paank accused of serving as propaganda arm for destabilization efforts in Balochistan

Paank accused of serving as propaganda arm

QUETTA: Paank, a social media account operating under the label of human rights, has come under growing scrutiny for acting as a political front for anti-state elements. In this regard, Paank has consistently issued statements and fabricated narratives aimed at shifting the blame for militant violence onto law enforcement agencies.

In this sense, portraying militants as victims and security forces as perpetrators, the organization is accused of attempting to distort realities on the ground in Balochistan.

There are several IT experts reported that the Paank has gone beyond simple advocacy, engaging in campaigns that glorify separatist actors and conceal their involvement in terrorism and organized crime.

The group is said to have employed tactics such as exploiting the tragic killings of Baloch youth often targeted by the very extremists it indirectly supports and using their deaths as rallying points for anti-state propaganda.

Moreover, it also mentions that such activities are part of a broader information warfare strategy, designed to undermine public trust in state institutions.

“This is not about human rights; it is about weaponizing narratives against Pakistan,” a senior analyst commented. “Accounts like Paank thrive on disinformation, attempting to present terrorists as martyrs and the state as an oppressor.”

In addition, the narrative advanced by Paank is seen by officials as aligned with external actors seeking to destabilize Balochistan. Indian involvement in fueling separatist violence has long been cited by Pakistan, with organizations like Paank accused of serving as the soft-power extension of this agenda.

On the other hand, the government has reasserted its commitment to upholding genuine human rights in Balochistan. Additionally, the efforts to promote peace, development, and reconciliation in the province, they argue, are undermined by entities that exploit humanitarian language as a shield for militancy.
