QUETTA: A Levies officer embraced martyrdom in an exchange of fire with bandits in Khatan Baghi area of Bolan district, officials confirmed on Thursday.
According to Levies’ sources, the operation targeted the notorious Shafu gang. During the clash, two bandits sustained injuries. The search operation was conducted under the supervision of Kachhi Deputy Commissioner, Captain (retd) Juma Dad Khan Mandokhail.
Levies forces surrounded the houses of the gang’s associates and set ablaze more than 15 hideouts, including that of key operative Mir Hassan Hala, officials said.
The Balochistan government paid tribute to the martyred officer, Mohsin Ali Awan, acknowledging his sacrifice in the line of duty.
A spokesperson for the provincial Home Department said Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti had directed security forces to intensify operations against criminal networks in Kachhi. The spokesperson added that authorities are carrying out indiscriminate action against outlaws and vowed to eliminate gangs involved in highway robberies.

The Home Department stressed that the government remains committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens. It said the crackdown on criminal elements will continue until brought to a logical conclusion.
