QUETTA: Quetta Commissioner Shahzeb Khan Kakar ordered the relocation of dairy farms outside the city in line with Balochistan High Court directives. He issued the instructions while chairing a meeting that reviewed progress on the plan.
Officials said the move aims to improve sanitation, sewerage, and the environment in the provincial capital. The Dairy Farms Association proposed land allocation on both sides of Quetta to ensure an uninterrupted milk supply to residents.
The Quetta Development Authority was directed to prepare a plan covering land, water supply, and other facilities for new farm sites. Authorities also pledged to address concerns raised by the association.
The commissioner ordered strict action against sellers of adulterated milk. Shopkeepers will be required to display separate prices for buffalo, cow, and powdered milk. The district administration and Livestock Department will set prices, while the Food Authority and administration will carry out joint inspections.
