Balochistan CM Vows education, skills, and jobs for youth

Quetta – Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, expressed his commitment to providing education, skills training, and employment opportunities for the province’s youth during an interactive session with students from various educational institutions.

in Balochistan News updates, He said that Balochistan’s young people have no shortage of talent but have long suffered from a lack of opportunities.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the government has introduced the province’s first-ever Youth Policy, making the provision of quality education, vocational training, and jobs a top priority.

He also noted that the first Women’s Endowment Fund has been established and that women are being appointed to key administrative posts, emphasizing that no society can progress without the active participation of women.

Bugti shared that over the past year, 3,200 previously inactive schools have been reopened, and by December this year no school in the province will remain non-functional.

He added that 16,000 teachers have already been appointed strictly on merit.

Addressing issues of unrest, he made it clear that taking up arms against the state on the basis of deprivation is unacceptable.

The government is ready for dialogue, he said, but those with innocent blood on their hands will remain answerable to the law.

The Chief Minister stressed the importance of educating young people about Balochistan’s history to reveal the true causes of past grievances and to counter negative propaganda on social media.

Over the last three years, the Balochistan government has taken several steps to expand education, skill development, and employment opportunities across the province.

A landmark move was the introduction of the province’s first Youth Policy, which sets out a structured plan to provide quality education, vocational training, and career pathways for young people.

Alongside this, the government launched the Women’s Endowment Fund, ensuring financial support and greater participation of women in the workforce and in leadership roles, signaling a commitment to gender-inclusive growth.

Education reforms have focused on reopening schools and hiring qualified staff.

Officials report that more than 3,000 previously inactive schools were reactivated, with a target of zero non-functional schools by the end of 2025.

To strengthen teaching quality, around 16,000 teachers were appointed on merit, helping stabilize the education sector.

On the employment side, vocational and technical training programs have been expanded in partnership with private industry and federal agencies to align youth skills with market needs.
