QUETTA: The Balochistan government has renamed two of its schools to honor soldiers who died for the country.
The decision was made on Thursday on the special instructions of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
The Balochistan Residential College in Loralai has been renamed after Captain Waqar Kakar. The Government Boys High School in Kan Mehtarzai has been renamed after Constable Altaf-ur-Rehman.

Chief Minister Bugti said this is a way to pay tribute to the martyrs’ great sacrifices and to teach the new generation about their mission. He called the martyrs national heroes whose sacrifices will never be forgotten.
The government’s education departments have already issued official notifications to make the name changes permanent.
