The United States has announced it will end a special permission that allowed countries to do business with Iran’s Chabahar port without facing American sanctions.
This permission, which was first granted in 2018 to help with the economic development of Afghanistan, will be stopped on September 29, 2025. After that date, any company or country that works with the Iranian port will risk being punished by US sanctions.

The US State Department stated that this decision is part of its “maximum pressure” campaign, which aims to isolate Iran economically.
