Bahoot Baloch" exposed as Indian propaganda operative

ISLAMABAD: The investigations have revealed that the individual operating under the alias “Bahoot Baloch” is in fact Deepak Negi, a resident of Rudraprayag district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, who has been involved in running coordinated anti-Pakistan propaganda campaigns on social media.

In this sense, the Negi adopted a Baloch identity to lend credibility to his online activities, which promoted narratives targeting Pakistan.

The evidence collected from social media archives and traffic logs indicated that his “X” account remained active during specific hours each day. Interestingly, during these same intervals, another account, identified as “Sami Deen Baloch,” was found publishing identical posts, word-for-word.

Furthermore, the investigators noted that between March and August 2025, both accounts published at least 45 posts with matching hashtags and identical graphic templates.

In this regard, the additional evidence emerged from metadata linked to WhatsApp backup files, which suggested that both accounts were part of a group comprising nine members.

In addition, the cyber analysts believe this level of discipline mirrors practices often associated with organized information operations. “Such a detailed timetable reflects operational methods consistent with intelligence-backed information cells,” one expert noted, referring to the Indian Information Operations Cell (IOC), which has previously been accused of engaging in coordinated online influence campaigns.
