Audio leak revelation: TTP leadership concealed casualties in Mohmand

MOHMAND: The reports have emerged that the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) leadership attempted to cover up the killing of at least 16 of its fighters in the Mohmand

The fatalities occurred during an internal clash involving militant factions in Mohmand, a region long associated with violent activity by the outlawed group.

The leaked audio suggests that the commander was directing field operatives to avoid public disclosure of the deaths in order to prevent internal dissent and preserve the group’s operational image. Furthermore, the development is seen by observers as evidence of growing fractures within the TTP ranks.

The TTP has not issued any official statement on the matter. However, experts note that past incidents of factional infighting and disputes over leadership have weakened the organization’s command structure.

If confirmed, the reported loss of 16 militants would mark a considerable setback for the group in Mohmand, a key operational corridor.

Meanwhile, the security officials focus on the fact that such developments mention the importance of continued vigilance against militant propaganda, which often seeks to distort or suppress realities on the ground.
