Bahrain, Pakistan Air chiefs meet to boost defence ties

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Staff, Bahrain Defence Force, Lieutenant General Thiab Saqer Abdulla Al Nuaimi, called on Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, at Air Headquarters.

In this regard, as per the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting revolved around matters of mutual interest, with a particular focus on expanding avenues of defence cooperation between Pakistan and Bahrain.

In this sense, Lieutenant General Thiab Saqer Abdulla Al Nuaimi was presented with a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Air Force.

The Air Chief warmly welcomed the visiting dignitary and underlined the deep-rooted religious and historic ties that underpin the strong defence and diplomatic relations between the two nations.

Furthermore, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu reasserted his resolve to further broaden bilateral cooperation, particularly in areas of operational training and technological collaboration.

He focused on the fact that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Bahrain, which are anchored in a shared commitment to peace, security, and stability in the region.

Meanwhile, the visiting dignitary commended the professionalism of PAF personnel and praised the Air Force’s significant progress in indigenization and technological innovation.

He expressed keen interest in learning from PAF’s operational experience, particularly its expertise in Multi-Domain operations, and conveyed his desire to initiate joint training programs for Bahraini pilots and engineers across all levels.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant General Al Nuaimi also lauded the role of the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park (NASTP) in promoting innovation and advancing indigenous capabilities.
