QUETTA: The Balochistan government has announced the addition of 21 new buses to its public transport fleet to provide citizens with improved and dignified travel facilities, officials said Friday.
Provincial Transport Secretary Muhammad Hayat Kakar said the government decided to expand the service after the success of the Green Bus Project. He said the new fleet includes 17 buses for Quetta and four for Turbat.
Under the plan, five of the Quetta buses will operate as “Pink Buses,” reserved exclusively for women during designated hours. The remaining 12 will operate as Green Buses on different city routes.
Officials confirmed that inspection and shipment of all buses have been completed, and the vehicles will begin operating soon in Quetta and Turbat.
