QUETTA: The Government of Balochistan has released the confession of Dr. Muhammad Usman Qazi, alias Amir, an Assistant lecturer at BUITEMS Quetta. The PhD scholar admitted that he joined the Indian poxy banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and facilitated multiple terrorist attacks.
In his video statement, Usman confessed to direct contact with BLA leader Bashir Zeb through Telegram. He also revealed that his main handler was Dr. Haibtan.
Most shockingly, he admitted to sheltering the suicide bomber who carried out the November 9, 2024 attack at Quetta Railway Station. That blast killed at least 26 people and injured 62 others.
Investigators say Usman turned his Afnaan Town residence into a BLA safe house. His house provided shelter, alcohol, medical treatment, and even young women to militants. His brother, Jibran, an active BLA member, supported him in these operations.
The professor ran this network as a business. He charged Rs. 400,000 to 500,000 for intelligence, Rs. 200,000 per night for providing BYC-linked girls, and up to Rs. 1 million for medical arrangements of injured fighters.
Usman also exploited vulnerable women. In 2021, he lured Gulzadi Baloch, a poor girl searching for her missing brother, into his network. Later, she and her friend Bebo Baloch were forced into BYC-linked activities.
The lecturer’s role extended to direct operational support. In early 2024, he sheltered injured BLA fighter Bohair. Before the Quetta Railway Station bombing, he hosted and guided suicide bomber Rafiq Bizenjo. Intelligence also linked him to “Operation Herof-2,” a planned wave of 32 coordinated suicide attacks across Balochistan on August 14, 2024.

Timely intelligence led to the arrest of Dr. Usman and his brother Jibran. Their capture prevented a mass-casualty campaign and dealt a major blow to the BLA’s network.
BLA and BYC operatives are now running propaganda to present him as an innocent academic. However, officials stress that the evidence is clear: Dr. Usman was a terrorist in academic disguise, a facilitator, and an exploiter. His arrest marks a decisive intelligence victory against militancy in Balochistan.
