QUETTA: The provincial government of Balochistan has announced to restore the Motte Gharaam Fort located in Jhal Magsi district of Balochistan, which is famously known as Balochistan’s Taj Mahal.
According to report, the provincial government has also started work on the restoration of Lai Dam Fort in Panjgur, Harmagai Fort in Washuk, and Kharan Fort.
While informing the media, Secretary of Culture and Tourism, Sohail-ur-Rehman Baloch said that a total of 350 million PKR has been allocated in this year’s provincial budget for the restoration and beautification of four forts across Balochistan.
Out of this amount, 100 million PKR has been set aside for the restoration of Motte Gharaam Fort in Jhal Magsi, 100 million PKR for the forts in Washuk and Kharan, and 50 million PKR for Lai Dam Fort in Panjgur.

Sohail-ur-Rehman Baloch further said that the restoration of these ancient forts will help promote tourism in Balochistan. Motte Gharaam Fort, known as Balochistan’s Taj Mahal, holds great historical significance in the region.
