QUETTA: As security operations intensify in southwestern Balochistan against the Indian proxies referred as ‘Fitna al Hindustan,’ mobile internet users across the province have found themselves abruptly disconnected.

A letter dated August 6, 2025, is circulating on social media, allegedly issued by the Home Department of Balochistan, requesting the Ministry of Interior to suspend 3G and 4G mobile data services across the entire province till August 31, citing a “peculiar law and order situation.” Some users have questioned the authenticity of this letter.

At least four senior government officials, familiar with the matter, have confirmed that the letter is genuine and was indeed issued by the Balochistan Home Department.
- Shahid Rind, spokesperson for the Balochistan government, confirmed the letter’s legitimacy over a phone call but declined to provide further details.
- Shahzeb Khan Kakar, Commissioner of the Quetta Division, and Mansoor Qazi, Deputy Commissioner of Hub, also acknowledged receiving the official letter at their respective offices.
- Additionally, an official from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that mobile internet services have been suspended in Balochistan on the directives of “competent authorities” until further notice.

This development comes amid an ongoing security operation targeting the India-backed proxy network “Fitna al Hindustan” in southwestern Balochistan. The operation has triggered a broad security response, including curbs on mobile data access to prevent communication among hostile elements.
