Bano's ,mother handed over to police on remand

QUETTA: A major breakthrough has been made in the investigation of the double murder case in Balochistan, as police have arrested the mother of the deceased woman, Bano Bibi.

According to reports, Quetta police took Bano Bibi’s mother into custody last night in connection with the brutal killings.

Today, she was presented before an anti-terrorism court where police requested a two-day remand.

\The court granted the request and handed her over to the police on a two-day remand.

It is important to note that a day earlier, a statement from the woman had surfaced in which she claimed that her daughter Bano was punished according to Balochi customs.

She stated that their community’s decision was not unlawful and that the killing was sanctioned not by Sardar Sherbaz Satakzai alone, but through a traditional Balochi jirga.

She further appealed for the release of Sardar Sherbaz Satakzai and other arrested individuals.

Meanwhile, Bano’s brother—also nominated in the case—remains at large, and police raids are ongoing to apprehend him.

Just yesterday, the court had extended the physical remand of accused Sardar Sherbaz Satakzai by another ten days.

To recall, the incident occurred in the Degari area on the outskirts of Quetta, where a man and woman were publicly executed three days before Eid al-Adha.
