Turbat’s Banal Baloch shines with PhD in Balochi language and literature

QUETTA: Scholar Banal Baloch has successfully completed her PhD in Balochi language and literature, from the Balochistan Study Center of the University of Balochistan.

According to details, the talented and proud student from Turbat district of Balocistan, Banal Baloch’s research has provided a new critical angle by linking Balochi folk poetry with the folk tradition of other languages of Pakistan.

Banal Baloch research topic “Technical and thematic comparison of Balochi folk poetry and folk poetry of selected Pakistani languages” was appreciated in academic circles, while the defense and oral examination included Professor Dr. Ghulam Farooq, Dr. Najia Israr Zaidi, Dr. Abdul Shakoor Zahid and Dr. Soraya Bano.

Along with Banal Baloch’s academic success, her literary and intellectual contributions in the promotion of Balochi literature were also valued, and experts declared her a representative scholar of the new generation of Balochi language.
