ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting to review the security arrangements for Chinese nationals in Pakistan.
During the session, a detailed briefing was given on the progress of special security measures, while the Interior Minister informed the Prime Minister about the nationwide security strategy.
The briefing highlighted that due to potential threats of terrorism, enhanced security protocols are actively being implemented for Chinese citizens.
Both the federal and provincial governments are working together closely to ensure safety.
Chinese nationals are being provided with dedicated security escorts during travel, and all new residential projects will be equipped with surveillance cameras adhering to Safe City standards.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that several steps have been taken to strengthen the protection of Chinese nationals across the country.
He noted that the Safe City projects are a strong example of improved capacity and that such initiatives are being developed nationwide to meet international standards.
He reaffirmed that the longstanding, brotherly relations with China are a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy and that ensuring the safety of Chinese citizens is a top priority for the government.
PM Shehbaz also stated that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has now entered its second phase, where business-to-business collaboration will take precedence.

He stressed that the trust of Chinese companies is vital for Pakistan’s economic future and instructed that measures to facilitate Chinese nationals at airports be undertaken on a priority basis.
