Security forces seize major weapons, explosives haul in regional operation

NUSHKI: The security forces carried out a well-coordinated operation in the Parhod mountains of Nushki district, neutralizing a group of terrorists affiliated with a banned outfit.

The operation was launched based on credible intelligence regarding the presence of 15 to 20 terrorists in the rugged Parhod region. The area had reportedly become a hideout for elements involved in recent attacks on civilians along the strategic N-25 and N-40 highways.

The response was so swift, the forces launched an offensive on July 21, leading to the elimination of 12 terrorists, while five others sustained injuries during the intense firefight.

Furthermore, during the operation, the security forces also recovered a cache of heavy weapons, explosives, and advanced communication equipment, which were believed to be used in plotting and coordinating attacks across the region.

No casualties were reported on the side of the security forces, and the area has since been secured to prevent any further threats.
