Five Fitna al Khawarij terrorists killed in Hangu operation, DPO injured

HANGU: Police killed at least five terrorists of Fitna al Khwarij during an operation in different areas of Hangu on Saturday.

During the exchange of fire, terrorists injured District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Khalid and a Station House Officer (SHO), who were later shifted to District Headquarters Hospital in Peshawar.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed stated that police launched the operation in the Shanaori border area of Hangu.

He confirmed that DPO Hangu Khalid Khan sustained three bullet wounds during the encounter. Security forces immediately shifted him to CMH Kohat, and doctors may refer him to Peshawar if needed, he added.

The IG noted that police injured several terrorists and killed multiple others during the operation. He assured that DPO Khalid Khan is now out of danger and in high spirits, and he personally spoke to him.

He reaffirmed that operations against terrorists will continue without pause.

Meanwhile, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi contacted the injured DPO Muhammad Khalid, inquired about his health, and praised his bravery.

Naqvi also paid tribute to DPO Hangu and his team for their courageous role in eliminating five terrorists of Fitna-ul-Hindustan.
