QUETTA: Terrorists targeted a police convoy traveling from Kalat to Quetta at Chotu. The convoy consisted of two trucks and two pickup vehicles, confirmed the spokesperson for the Balochistan government.
In the attack, Acting DSP Inspector Abdul Razzaq and Constable Raza Muhammad embraced martyrdom, while Constables Taj Muhammad and Khursheed Ahmed sustained injuries and were shifted to the hospital, according to the provincial government spokesperson.
Security forces and police personnel immediately reached the site of the attack, and a search operation is currently underway in the area.
The bodies of the martyrs and the injured officers are being airlifted to Quetta via helicopter, as per Shahid Rind, the government’s spokesperson.
Such acts of terrorism reflect the desperation of enemies of peace, but the spirit and resolve of the people of Balochistan and the security forces remain unshaken, said the spokesperson.
