Hazara Quetta wins Women’s football league

QUETTA:  The first-ever All Balochistan Meena Majeed Women’s Football League Cup concluded successfully at Qayyum Papa Football Ground in Quetta.

The event, hosted by Hazara Quetta Football Academy in collaboration with the Sports Department of the Government of Balochistan, saw an exciting final match on Tuesday night where Hazara Quetta Football Academy A defeated Pamir Football Club with a commanding 3-0 scoreline to claim the championship title.

Provincial Sports and Youth Affairs Adviser Meena Majeed Baloch graced the final as the chief guest.

She was joined by Secretary Sports Durra Baloch, Captain Rajab Ali Hazara, renowned coach Madam Shaista Laghari, Taj Bashir, Vilayat Hussain, Muhammad Noman, footballer Ali Zafar Hazara, Farhad Ali Hazara, and other prominent figures.

In her remarks, Adviser Meena Majeed congratulated all participating female athletes, highlighting their energy and dedication.

She emphasized that the real victory lies in participation and sportsmanship rather than just the final result.

Underscoring the significance of promoting girls’ participation in sports—particularly in regions like Balochistan—she reassured the players of her unwavering support.

“As a woman who once played football herself, I understand the obstacles girls face and stand with you wholeheartedly. My office is always open for you,” she stated emotionally.

To encourage the athletes, Meena Majeed Baloch announced cash prizes: Rs. 200,000 for the champions Hazara Quetta Football Academy A, Rs. 100,000 for runners-up Pamir Football Club, and Rs. 50,000 for Salam Football Club which secured third place.

She also announced Rs. 50,000 in recognition of the match referees’ contribution.

In a major announcement, she revealed that an All Pakistan Women’s Football Championship will be held in October, marking a new milestone for women’s football in the country.

The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony where medals, shields, and trophies were presented to the players, teams, and officials.
