QUETTA: A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be held in Quetta to sight the moon of Muharram Haram 1447 AH.
According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has been called in Quetta today (Thursday). The meeting will be held at the DC Office after Asr prayers.
Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Pakistan Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad will preside over the meeting, while the meetings of the zonal committees will be held in their provincial capitals.
According to the spokesperson, the meeting of the zonal committee Islamabad will be held in Kohsar block. The final announcement of the moon sighting or not will be made by the Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
On the other hand, Suparco has issued a prediction for the moon of Muharram 1447 AH, according to which the age of the crescent will be approximately 28 hours and 15 minutes at sunset on June 26, 2025.

According to the Suparco spokesperson, based on astronomical factors, the chances of seeing the new moon of Muharram on the evening of June 26, 2025 in case of clear weather are excellent, and the first of Muharram 1447 AH is expected on June 27, 2025.
