WASHINGTON: A news agency has reported that no official information has been shared regarding the agenda of the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Field Marshal Asim Munir.
However, the agency speculates that this high-level meeting could become a source of concern for India.
The meeting between President Trump and Field Marshal Munir, accompanied by a military delegation, is scheduled for 10 PM and will take place behind closed doors, with no media presence allowed. According to news sources, this meeting is expected to bring about significant developments.
In a recent statement, President Trump referred to Pakistan as an important nuclear country, saying, “I love Pakistan.”
He also claimed multiple times to have prevented a nuclear conflict between Pakistan and India.
Trump has previously offered to mediate the Kashmir issue on several occasions. Meanwhile, the Indian media has expressed serious unease over this meeting between the Pakistani Army Chief and the U.S. President.
The Indian opposition has also raised a commotion, calling it a major failure of the Modi government’s foreign policy.

Congress has stated that following the Pulwama incident, not only has Pakistan moved closer to its long-time ally China, but its relations with the U.S. have also begun to thaw. In light of this, the Congress party questioned the Modi government’s repeated claims of diplomatic success on public platforms.
