Hindu heritage honoured: Hinglaj Mata Temple gets world tourism status

QUETTA: The Government of Balochistan has declared the historic Hinglaj Mata Temple in Lasbela a World Tourism Site. The decision was announced after a meeting between Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Senator Danesh Kumar on Monday.

Hinglaj Mata Temple is one of the holiest sites for Hindus in Pakistan. Every year, it draws hundreds of thousands of pilgrims from across Pakistan and abroad.

The Balochistan government aims to promote religious tourism and project a positive image of the province. Chief Minister Bugti said Balochistan is home to many cultures and communities. He called the Hinglaj Mata Temple a symbol of the province’s heritage and tolerance.

He said the provincial government is committed to preserving religious and cultural landmarks. In the upcoming budget, the government will allocate funds for the renovation and development of the site.

Senator Danesh Kumar welcomed the decision. He said it would strengthen the confidence of minority communities and promote interfaith harmony. He also called the move a proud moment for the Hindu community in Pakistan.
