Hijacking our pain: The rise of foreign-funded narratives in Balochistan

By: Adnan Saleem Baloch

I have seen my land suffer. I have seen my people bleed. I have seen innocent lives torn apart in the name of freedom by those who do not even know the meaning of it. I speak today not as a politician, not as a government official, but as a son of this soil, Balochistan. I must expose those who wear the mask of victimhood while hiding daggers behind their backs.

The BLA (Balochistan Liberation Army) and BLF (Balochistan Liberation Front) have become nothing more than instruments of destruction. These groups, who claim to fight for the rights of the Baloch people, are in fact the biggest threat to our peace, our dignity, and our future. They do not represent the people; they represent chaos. I have seen funerals that never should have happened, and I have heard the cries of mothers who should never have mourned.

These groups operate from New Delhi. Yes, India our neighbor turned enemy, funds and shelters them. This is not a conspiracy theory. It is a bitter, well-documented reality. What we call Fitna Al Hindustan is an open wound on Balochistan’s heart.

It is an enemy not of just Pakistan, but of the Baloch people too. It is New Delhi’s modern hybrid war, where BLA and BLF are the pawns.

In addition, what disappoints me more than their terror is the silence of those who pretend to speak for Baloch rights. I speak here of the Baloch Yekjehti Committee (BYC), headed by Dr. Mahrang Baloch. She speaks eloquently about human rights abuses, appears on global media platforms, is invited to conferences in Europe and America but not once, not once has she ever condemned the barbarism of BLA and BLF.

Why is that? Is it not a human rights violation when BLA bombs a school? Is it not a violation when a soldier on duty is killed by a sniper? Is it not oppression when a Baloch child is orphaned by a roadside IED planted by BLF? Why does Dr. Mahrang remain silent on this? Why does she only speak when it suits her political agenda?

Two years ago, she was an unknown face. I remember she barely had any resources. In fact, she wore the same clothes for days because she couldn’t afford new ones. Today, she flies across the world. Today, she has become a media darling. Today, she is featured in top-tier international publications. Today, her wealth, influence, and connections have all grown mysteriously. How? The answer lies again in Fitna Al Hindustan. The same hands that fund the BLA and BLF fund her too.

I am saying this out of pain. Pain that our tragedy has become a tool in someone else’s game. Dr. Mahrang has used the suffering of Baloch families to build her brand. She has turned our graves into podiums.

The international community, unfortunately, only sees the headlines, never the context. They don’t know that many so-called activists are part of a larger propaganda campaign. They don’t realize that their media platforms are being used to fuel anti-Pakistan narratives crafted in New Delhi’s disinformation labs.

BLA and BLF are enemies of Balochistan. BYC and its leadership are partners in their silence. Anyone who refuses to condemn terror is complicit in it.

I want peace. I want progress. I want education for our children, jobs for our youth, and dignity for our people.

We need to expose this fitna not just for Pakistan, but for Balochistan itself. Our people deserve better than to be pawns in a regional game. We deserve leaders who speak the truth, not those who sell narratives to foreign buyers.
