Israeli attack on Iran ‘unjustified’ and ‘illegal’: Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan strongly condemned Israel’s early morning airstrikes on Iran on Friday. The government called the attack “unacceptable,” saying it violated international law and threatened regional peace.

In a statement, the Foreign Office expressed serious concern. It said the strikes breached Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. “Israel’s assault is unjustified and against the UN Charter,” the spokesperson said. Pakistan condemns the attack. It violates international law and the principles of the United Nations.”

The FO also said Iran had the right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter. It urged the global community to act quickly and stop the crisis from escalating.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar echoed this stance. He posted a strong condemnation on X (formerly Twitter). “We strongly condemn Israel’s unjustified attacks on Iran,” Dar wrote. “These strikes violate Iran’s sovereignty. This reckless act has shaken the foundations of international law and human conscience. It threatens regional peace and global security. Pakistan stands with the people and government of Iran.”

Israel claimed its airstrikes were “preemptive and precise.” The strikes hit several targets in Tehran. Reports say the attack killed multiple Iranian military officers, including senior IRGC commanders.

The attack sparked anger across the Muslim world. Iran promised a strong and calculated response. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Armed Forces spokesperson Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi vowed “severe punishment.” They accused Israel of committing a grave crime with U.S. support.
