Justice Ejaz Swati appointed as chief justice of Balochistan high court

ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Commission, under the chairmanship of Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi, approved the appointment of Justice Ejaz Swati as the permanent Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court. He was previously serving as the acting Chief Justice.

Born on June 6, 1963, in Quetta, Justice Muhammad Ejaz Swati completed his early education from Tameer-e-Nau Public School and earned his MA in English from the University of Balochistan. He obtained his LLB in 1988 from University Law College, Quetta.

He began his legal career in 1991 and practiced in various courts, including the Supreme Court of Pakistan. In 2002, he was appointed as a judge of the Anti-Terrorism Court in Turbat but resigned in 2003. With over 22 years of legal experience, he also served as a legal advisor to the National Bank of Pakistan.

He was appointed as an Additional Judge of Balochistan High Court in 2013 and became a permanent judge in 2015.

He took oath as Acting Chief Justice on February 14, 2025, and was confirmed as the permanent Chief Justice on May 19, 2025.
