8 District Health Officers suspended in Balochistan

Quetta: The Balochistan Health Department has immediately suspended eight District Health Officers (DHOs) over poor performance, negligence, and obstruction in the delivery of healthcare services.

The suspended officers belong to the districts of Chaghi, Kachhi, Jhal Magsi, Killa Saifullah, Loralai, Sibi, Dera Bugti, and Killa Abdullah.

The suspension order was issued under the BEDA Act 2011. In the meantime, respective Deputy DHOs have been instructed to take temporary charge of their duties.

Note: Government hospitals in various districts of Balochistan often face significant challenges, including a shortage of staff, lack of medical equipment, and insufficient infrastructure.

Remote areas are particularly affected, with limited access to quality healthcare services.
